Sahara Trails has been providing safe and fun horse riding experiences in Port Stephens since 1988. They provide horse riding for the whole family, from the absolute beginner to the most experienced rider, and have a ride that will cater to your ability.

Come and enjoy one of our scenic guided trails, relax and experience the peace and tranquillity of Nelson Bay’s beautiful surrounds. With over 35 years of local knowledge we can help you to not only enjoy your horse ride but experience Port Stephens as a destination.

Dress Code:

Long pants and closed in shoes are required. Helmets are provided free of charge.

Beginner: Aussie Bush Trail

Our friendly guide leads the way, while you sit back and relax on one of our well trained horses and enjoy the Aussie bush surrounds as we ride along the creek and through Casuarina Forest & Koala Habit. This ride caters for all riders, and is a great confidence builder for absolute beginners and the nervous rider. For ages 4+ (2-3yo enquire about our saddlemate for doubling). WALKING ONLY.

Intermediate: Absolute Beach Ride

Our friendly guide will take you on an adventurous journey along the pristine coastline and the base of the towering sand dunes. Experience the ever changing environment of the Worimi Conservation Lands from the saddle of one of our reliable horses. For age 14+.

Bookings Essential: Meet us at Lower Carpark, Birubi Point (end James Patterson Street, Anna Bay)

Intermediate: Beach and High Dune Extravaganza

Our friendly guide will take you on an adventurous ride along the pristine coastline before we journey 40m above sea level up the towering sand dunes to soak in the magnificent landscape of the Worimi Conservation Lands. You will enjoy being in the saddle of one of our reliable horses. This ride is for the adventurous intermediate+ rider age 16 and over. Maximum 6 people per ride.
